Khaled Zaki, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner · UCSF-Trained
Khaled Zaki is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in neurodiversity and cognitive health. UCSF-trained and in clinical practice since 2019, he works with individuals across a range of mood, anxiety, and attentional disorders.
His clinical interests include ADHD, anxiety management, and executive functioning challenges—with particular sensitivity to individuals navigating the intersection of identity, culture, and belief systems, including tensions between faith, sexuality, and cultural identity.
Khaled approaches treatment through a biopsychosocial lens, integrating evidence-based psychopharmacology with psychotherapy-informed care. Drawing on principles from Adlerian psychology—emphasizing belonging and purpose—he works primarily with thoughtful, high-functioning professionals who struggle quietly with attention regulation, chronic self-doubt, or internal conflict. He creates a space that values clarity, accountability, and meaningful change. His goal is the cultivation of insight, self-respect, and sustainable cognitive health.
Outside of clinical practice, Khaled pursues stained glass artistry—exploring Islamic geometric and Art Deco design. It's a practice that reflects his broader conviction that environment, color, and structure shape how we think and feel.
Khaled sees patients independently and is currently accepting new patients across Aetna and private pay tracks.
Regina Tyrkas
Practice Manager
Regina Tyrkas is the operational heart of Lawrence Choy MD PC. Born and raised in Prague, she studied Physical Therapy at medical college in Brno and brings a clinical foundation that gives her a uniquely informed perspective on patient care.
Before joining the practice, she honed her skills at the renowned spa resort Luhacovice, specializing in respiratory conditions and kinetic apparatus dysfunction — an experience that deepened her understanding of the mind-body connection that defines Dr. Choy's approach to Lifestyle Psychiatry.
Regina is known throughout the practice for going above and beyond. Patients consistently describe her as responsive, compassionate, and reassuring — someone who makes the administrative side of psychiatric care feel effortless, even during stressful moments. Whether coordinating a same-day appointment, navigating insurance questions, or simply making sure a patient feels heard, Regina approaches every interaction with the same care and attentiveness.
Her commitment to patient experience is not incidental — it's foundational to the kind of practice Dr. Choy has built. Great psychiatric care requires trust, and trust begins with the very first phone call.
