About Dr. Choy
Dr. Lawrence Choy is a board-certified, Stanford-trained psychiatrist with nearly two decades of clinical experience. As the former Medical Director and co-founder of a premier Silicon Valley ADHD clinic, Dr. Choy has treated hundreds of individuals with adult ADHD, high-functioning ASD, and complex neurodivergent presentations. He develops neuroscience-informed treatment models designed to strengthen executive functioning and cognitive performance in neurodivergent adults — work that has positioned him as a leading clinical voice in the field. Today, he brings that expertise to his boutique private and concierge practice, where he continues to shape how adult ADHD and high-functioning ASD are understood and treated.
A leading expert on mental wellness and neuroplasticity, Dr. Choy serves on the Program Advisory Board of the John Brick Mental Health Foundation. He co-authored the definitive chapter on "Well-Being and Mental Wellness" for the Oxford Research Encyclopedia and contributed to the Global Wellness Institute’s Mental Wellness Initiative.
Dr. Choy created the modified Bathtub Model of Stress — a framework demonstrating how targeted challenges can physically and mentally expand an individual's capacity and resilience, enabling higher performance without burnout. Built on the Yerkes-Dodson stress-performance model and grounded in neuroplasticity and stress inoculation, the model has been featured at the Never Alone Summit and in Thrive Global.
His approach is shaped by both clinical expertise and lived experience — navigating his own late-diagnosed ADHD and supporting his family through their neurodivergent and chronic health journeys. He works with a diverse range of patients, from executives and founders to physicians, engineers, lawyers, therapists, athletes, students, and stay-at-home parents — tailoring strategies to each individual's unique neurobiology, lifestyle, and goals.

Clinical Expertise — Where Science Meets Lived ADHD
I don't just treat ADHD — I live with it and manage it daily, applying evidence-informed neuroscience to my own life to optimize performance, growth, and resilience.
I practice what I teach. As an endurance athlete, a father to a neurodivergent child, and a partner to a spouse with chronic illness, sustained performance under pressure is more than academic — it is my reality, one I have grown to proudly embrace. Navigating stress and preventing burnout require the same discipline and pacing demanded by a marathon. Endurance without purpose leads to depletion — true resilience is anchored in meaning. It is a guiding principle for how I train on the trails and how I practice in the office.
As your psychiatrist, I partner with you to develop personalized, practical strategies tailored to your unique neurobiology, circumstances, and priorities. Together, we recalibrate limits and expand capacity — so you can perform purposefully and sustainably under life's pressures, at a pace that works for you.
"Focus on the process. Commit to the journey. Lead with purpose."
